Annual Report To Parents - May 2025 - An Update on the Progress of Our School Improvement Strategic Plan

Purpose of the report: This report is issues by River Trail Elementary School Improvement Council in accordance with South Carolina law to share information on the school’s progress in meeting various goals and objectives, the work of the SIC, and other accomplishments during the school year.

The goal of the River Trail Elementary School Improvement Council is to increase parental and community involvement with the school to cultivate an atmosphere of academic achievement and foster the educational environment for all students.


 

STAR TESTING RESULTS:

Star testing is used in Kindergarten – 12th grade education to help teachers understand student growth and achievement.

Donors & Grants

RTES had multiple teachers receive funds from Donors Choose grants for Language Arts, Classroom Management, Atmosphere, STEM and Classroom Behavior.


Student Accomplishments

RTES is proud of the multiple students that scored perfectly on their SC Ready tests in Spring 2024.  


River Trail Elementary maintains its Lighthouse Designation from Blue Ribbon Schools for Excellence, Inc.


Professional Development

  • Mrs. Martin presented at the following conferences:  OEC PE Conference in Rock Hill, SC; SCAHPERD state Conference in North Myrtle Beach, SC;  NAHPL National Summit in Newport, Rhode Island.
  • Mrs. Martin led a Professional Development Live Webinar for SC PE Teachers across the state.
  • Mrs. Martin served as the FMSD PE Chair for the Physical Education OEC Netserv where we planned and led a Professional Development All Day Conference for over 300 PE Teachers across 9 school districts.
  • Mrs. Shamblin served as a GT alignment leader for 4th grade ELA

  • Mrs. Steger, Mrs. Baird, Mrs. Brailsford, Mrs. Reese, Ms. Hurin, Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. Yates, Mrs. DeSanctis and Mrs. Reagan Taylor attended the Blue Ribbon Conference
  • Ms. Schauer attended the SC Art Education Conference
  • The Behavior Solutions Conference was attended by Mrs. Flis, Mr. Skramstad, Mr. Arman, and Mrs. Martin
  • Mrs. Flis attended the SC Association of School Psychologists conference.
